Thursday September 09, 2010 Quran burning worse than beheadings? I have been a avid reader of WorldNetDaily since it launched. I love WND, and I usually keep my mouth shut when I see things that are clearly biased. You have not done anything wrong. It's everyone else in the mainstream media. They demonize Terry Jones who is having a Quran burning event on Sept. 11. People can disagree with his actions, understood, but to disagree with his constitutional rights is another story. Besides, they burn our flag, chanting, "Death to America!" Give me a break! Where is the media outrage about an Iranian woman who is about to be stoned to death this week? Which is worse: Burning a bunch of Qurans or the brutal, barbaric killing of a woman who is accused of adultery? For crying out loud, they still behead converts to Christianity in Saudi Arabia! Where is the outrage and coverage of this? They are putting Islam on a pedestal, and for what? Look at their actions, the terror attacks, the Shariah killings! Do something big to try and save this woman's life and expose Islam for what it is. Rex Kramer Building mosques and burning Qurans On Saturday, the ninth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, a small church in Florida is planning to burn copies of the Quran. Further north, Muslims are planning to build a mosque at the Ground-Zero site, also tied to the Sept. 11 attacks. Some are saying the church has no right to burn copies of the Quran. Few are saying Muslims do not have the right to build a mosque at Ground Zero. The truth is both groups have the right to do what they plan. The church does have the right to burn copies of the Quran. Freedom of speech includes speech others might find offensive. Trying to brand it "hate speech" is ridiculous because, like all "hate" laws, you cannot prove what is in someone's heart. Likewise, private property rights state those who legally purchase land and adhere to zoning and construction regulations can build what they want where they want. However, rights do not exist in a vacuum. With rights come responsibilities. Rights can be restricted (e.g., it does not curtail freedom of speech to make it illegal to shout "fire" in a crowded movie theater), but such restrictions do not come into play in either case. Burning a book or putting up a building are actions that do not cause direct harm. However, in both cases, there is indirect harm. Ground Zero in New York is the site of a horrible act that killed 3,000 people. Putting up a mosque, which represents the same religion in which the attack was carried out, is emotionally hurtful to friends and families of those killed. It is an irresponsible act. The Quran is the holy book of Islam, much as the Bible is for Christians and the Torah is for Jews. Burning religious texts is insulting and hurtful to those who practice that faith. It is an irresponsible act. It's important to note the link between the building and the book. They are really about the same thing. If you support building a mosque at Ground Zero, you by definition support burning copies of the Quran (and vice versa). To try to separate the two is to say different groups have different rights. America is a country founded on freedom (rights), but too often we forget that with those rights come responsibilities. Darin Burn them all! Why do "tolerance" and "political correctness" dull the cognitive abilities of those who cling so tightly to them? Why are people so oblivious to the fact that we are in a war for the survival of Christianity and Western civilization? Why is nobody enraged for the thousands of Christians who are persecuted and murdered in Islamic countries every year? Why have we stopped grieving for Daniel Pearl? Why have we forgotten the victims of Sept. 11? The simple truth is this: The fact that we have to be afraid to burn Qurans is proof positive that we should be burning them – all of them. Mister J A bunch of right-wing failures You liars on the right constantly speak of the demise of people on the left, or of the left altogether. This is twofold evidence of your failure: First that you childishly make these false predictions to get gullible robots to read your yellow sheet, and, secondly, you are never effective at doing anything to stop the constant progress of the left. This is because you are liars and seek only to get rich in this cult called "conservatism." Has it never occurred to you that if you constantly don't do what you say you are doing, that makes you a failure? Hugh Whitmore Parents: Protect your children! This commentary by Phyllis Schlafly was both highly disturbing and very important. As a parent, I find myself fighting to protect my children from the rotten culture and corrupt influences that surround us. We are all frogs in pots to some extent. Anyone looking back at life as a child in the '60s can see that our innocence was being snatched out from under us and certainly out from under our parents very noses. The situation has just gone from bad to worse. Evil, albeit, has always been with us, but there is some sense in which technology for all of its many benefits has help to exponentially increase the ease with which it can set about to destroy us. Forgive me for stating the obvious. That said, it is clear that exposure to media of the sort that corrupts is akin, in my view, to bathing in the mire (I use a gentler term here for an ugly situation). I see how this evil succeeds and is promoted and that there are those elements that willfully seek to rob, kill and destroy our society. I am grateful to those of you who set out to expose it and to warn the rest of us. If not for my certainty about the return of Christ for his people and the nation of Israel, it would be all too easy to give into despair. Until then, we are told to occupy until He comes. To that end, it isn't just my own children that concern me, but all children. As many parents as can and would be helped, I try to do the same, person by person. It is not easy to do. So many parents have their heads in the sand or, like the frogs in the pot, they are passively unaware of the dangers. Some of us, by the grace of God, have started to feel the heat. I would only like to add further that Ms. Schlafly's article did not mention specific names of games. I don't know that it matters, ultimately, but that is exactly when I can be helpful to another parent who might not be thinking or as vigilant as they could be. The subject does come up. When my son's middle school showed some clips of "Family Guy," for example, I had enough knowledge to call them up and complain. More often than not, parents do not want to cause their children harm and many are doing so inadvertently because they have no discernment. Thank you for the courageous stand that you take. It helps to embolden those of us who need to be more assertive. Elisa Smalley Wednesday September 08, 2010 Welcome, Savage nation Dear Mr. Farah, As a retired Colorado cop, I applaud your invitation to Michael Savage to appear at your Taking America Back conference. His wit, wisdom, understanding of the jihad movement and forthright style of speaking will be a great addition to your enterprise. I wish I could attend and listen. And I thank you for your ongoing work in the search for Mr. Obama's true origins. He has a lot to hide from us. Very truly yours, John L. Work Wake up, get on board Thanks for an informative article on the up-coming 9-12 event in Washington, D.C. Stephani Scruggs is to be commended, as are those of the Tea Party, upon whose efforts the welfare of our country seemingly rests. I hope that a great majority of our citizens will wake from the complacency that has led to our current perilous position and get on board with the program to take back America. Dick Marriage is of God, not government Finally! Someone states that marriage is of God, not government! Thank you. True marriage is a covenant between God, a man and a woman. The usurpers in government saw a way to make money and co-opted the term. Any "marriage" outside the authority of God is a civil union and should be referred to as such. Period. Fritz Tuesday September 07, 2010 True conservativism: Bible-based There is no distinction between true conservatism and biblical conservatism. The founders of our country respected biblical authority, from which comes all morals and the recipe for blessings from God. Thank you for standing firm. Thank you for accepting the challenge. Dave No, don't debate! I must say that I'm extremely disappointed to hear that you're giving GOProud a forum to speak. As a Christian, what is there to debate? You excoriated Ann Coulter when she agreed to address GOProud's "Homocon" conference (and rightly so), but now you're taking on the role of a hypocrite by giving this organization opportunity to spread their perverted bile. Essentially, your are legitimizing this group, giving them a place within the tea-party movement that is anathema to foundational principles espoused by a majority of those involved. I exhort you to reconsider. Don't open the door and allow this perversion to befoul a meeting that should be focused on things necessary to bring unity and strength to the tea-party movement during the coming electoral cycle. David Redmond Thank you for proclaiming truth about homosexuality I have read your columns for years, and I have appreciated your conservative stances and believed you to be a (born-again believer in Jesus) Christian. But until this article, I have not been so moved to write you. I wholeheartedly and enthusiastically stand and applause you for your firm stand on the Word of (Yahweh) God! You are correct, many of the people we have looked to help us understand our culture have rolled over, e.g., Glenn Beck, Anne Coulter, etc. I suppose that this might well be an indicator of the soon return of Yeshua, but I am delighted that you have staked your ground on the inerrant Word of our holy and true God. Count me as a brother in the Lord and friend. I implore you, no matter the consequences to keep proclaiming the Truth to a lost and dying world, knowing that your brothers are with you, and more importantly, Jesus has your reward! Bob Dovey Hold Congress accountable on eligibility I have been following your writings in the Lakin case and find it disturbing that the citizens of this country cannot be shown evidence and a verification that a sitting president be a natural born citizen of the United States. I also find it disturbing that sitting members of the legislative branch do not pursue this in the interests of remaining true to the laws and the Constitution of the United States. The only way that WE THE PEOPLE can pursue a course of action that would force Congress into having Obama produce evidence that he is eligible to hold office is for organizations such as you to take it to the people and the media and force this into becoming a major issue, especially into the run-up to the November general elections and to the 2012 presidential election. I would ask candidates how they stand on this issue and what they would do if elected. Evidence clearly shows that Obama is hiding something, I and a good many Americans would like to know the truth and I am in a quandary as to why this is allowed to continue. Keep up the good work Max Prior Now convinced: Obama needs to come clean Keep up the fight. Only one of two things is true: either Obama was born in the U.S. and all the fighting was for show, or Obama was not born in the U.S. and is not eligible to serve. I can see no other possibility. If the first is true, what is the "embarrassment"? If, on the other hand, Obama was not born in the U.S. and is not eligible to serve, who cares if he finds himself embarrassed when exposed? I was neutral on the issue and willing to wait until the evidence was in, until the recent Brian Williams interview. Obama exposed himself in that interview by revealing that he was seriously bothered by the birth certificate issue. Well, if born in the U.S., and if in possession of a birth certificate, why not remove the annoyance by producing it? Nothing could be easier. Keep up the fight. Mark Roth Monday September 06, 2010 Gay marriage: Coup de grĂ¢ce of civilization I agree with you. Gay marriage is the coup de grâce of our civilization. Marriage has long been discredited by the likes of Newt Gingrich, Ted Kennedy and an endless parade of celebrities that Americans seem to worship. There is nothing sacred about marriage in America. No longer is it a covenant between two people, a couple and a community and one generation and the next. It is mere sentimental custom. Cohabitation and divorce are so widespread and unexceptional that gay "marriage" seems like unwarranted targeting of a particular class of people who, after all, want to be happy. I wish I could find grounds for optimism. but as long as Americans gorge themselves on soft- and hard-core pornography and remain enslaved – this is not too strong a word – to sexual addiction, gay marriage and many other "innovations" in the name of freedom, are coming to this once proud and decent country. Thanks for the effort. I could care less about Obama's birth certificate, an Islamic center near Ground Zero and other WND fixations. But I appreciate the concern for future of marriage. Eric Olsen Beck's appeal to 'turn to God' Glenn Beck's Aug. 28 rally at the Lincoln Memorial was a clear portrayal of the power of the Constitution of the United States, when properly interpreted, to produce a culture and provide the ground for actual freedom for diverse political and religious views. This freedom, however, is possible only when the Constitution is honored and interpreted as intended by the Founding Fathers of this nation. When the damnable error of progressivism is employed in deciphering the Constitution, freedom will be lost. Beck's appeal to America to "turn to God" was not a call to coerce unity of diverse religious doctrine. It was an appeal to honor the Constitution, which guarantees freedom of choice regarding a personal response to the question of God's existence. An appeal to "turn to God" is a challenge that cannot be resisted once proclaimed. The mind cannot but respond to such a call whether one is an atheist or religious person of whatever nature. The call to "turn to God, America" can best be summarized by a question asked by Jesus Christ, Himself: "What do you think of Christ? Whose Son is He?" (Matt. 22:41-42). Only the Constitution of the United States of America allows for individual freedom to diligently seek the answer to that question and openly in the public square proclaim your conviction regarding it. Let us never surrender that freedom to enemies of this great nation. Lloyd Saturday September 04, 2010 Taking a stand against homosexuality Mr. Farah, I've read you for some time. Thank you for standing up against homosexuality! Thank you for exposing Ann Coulter. I had no idea she had caved. That sickens me. I applaud you, sir. It warms my heart to see you take this stand. I need to pray more for WND and for you. I am a Christian, and I hunger for more public figures such as yourself to stand tall like a man. It is a joy to see what you're doing. And I know that you are pleasing to God because you stand on His Word. Vaughn Heppner So refreshing! It is so incredibly refreshing to hear somebody in a prominent position such as yourself be forthright on why they believe homosexuality is wrong. Thank you, and may God bless you! Please be strong in what you do knowing that there are many interceding and praying on your behalf to the Lord Jesus Christ. Well done! Dale E. Husted Farah nailed it You are dead-on right! I have recognized this irrational aspect of gay "marriage" for a long time, but you have put it into words that make very obvious the ridiculous nature of the concept! Keep up the great work, and may God bless you! Gary Ingold No rule of law in U.S. Given the ruling by this female military judge that Col. Lakin cannot have access to documents needed to defend himself, and the refusal of all courts to hear cases challenging Obama's eligibility, WND needs to do an expose on how the courts have been co-opted and corrupted by the political left. We no longer have the rule of law here in the U.S. The president and Congress just ignore the Constitution, and the courts basically rubber stamp their illegal acts. The law is no longer of consequence because it is either selectively applied or ignored when convenient. Darrell Hoskins Lakin: Get back to work! I just read the Lt. Col. Lakin story, and I agree with the decision. Active-duty military and political protests are supposed to be legally divorced, and when this doctor decides to not report for duty just because of doubts over Obama's eligibility to serve, then that's pushing it. I would hope that Lt. Col. Lakin just apologize, salute smartly and just get back to his assigned duties without further delay. However, given the influence that Joseph Farah and his ideas have over a certain segment of the conservative movement, I doubt this is even possible. Michael Vaughn, retired Navy An 'embarrassing' precedent? I presume you are going to comment on the judge's refusal to allow evidence in the Lakin case because it could be an "embarrassment" to the president. I suppose every crook on videotape will be wondering if he could use this defense or this judge. Lawyer: "That video can't be used because it might be embarrassing to my client." Judge: "OK, case dismissed." Jason What a bunch of wimps! It looks like the Obama regime continues to apply pressure to keep his records from seeing the light of day. You have no idea how disappointed I am in not only our top military officers but also our conservative leaders. What a bunch of wimps! No backbone at all! I'd gladly put my career on the line if it exposed illegal activities by our top government officials (both elected and unelected). I can only assume that the at this point the only remaining possibility is for our Congress, which may well see a change this coming November, can order the release of Obama's documentation. I do want you to know that I admire you for what you have done to expose the corruption within the current administration. Frank Walker Exactly why is it an embarrassment? I could not believe that Army Col. Denise R. Lind ruled that they could not review claims of Obama's eligibility because they were not relevant to the case! They are clearly at the heart of the case! But, the one quote that made all the difference in the article was this: "She said opening up such evidence could be an 'embarrassment' to the president, and it's up to Congress to call for impeachment of a sitting president." That quote is very interesting for two big reasons: One, why would it embarrass the president? The only logical conclusion would be he is ineligible and knows it. Two, she mentions that it is up to Congress to call for impeachment. Why would she say that? The case has nothing to do with impeachment, only the chain of command and proving Obama is eligible for the position. It isn't calling for his removal from office. John Praise for Pat There goes Mr. Buchanan giving us the real deal with his column, "The end of a foolish war." I don't think I can reap enough praise on Pat. The man is right on target, again. Of all the people in the country reporting on the federal government, not many seem to have their head screwed on straight like Pat Buchanan does. Ed Ban everything! Dropped: Ban on 'gang-related' rosary. "A policy at Oneida Middle School in Schenectady, N.Y., that banned a student's rosary under the category of 'gang-related beads' has been dropped …" Logically speaking, if there is to be a ban on anything a gang uses, the civilized world must die. A partial list of items that a gang member may use follows: air Who is to decide where the line should be drawn? Mike Williams Friday September 03, 2010 Enemies within Let me share an analogy that has been rolling around in my mind. "Tolerance" is exemplified by the young married couple who just had a beautiful newborn. They decide to put a number of rattlesnakes in his room because "Gee, the rattlesnakes need a home as well!" The married couple is the United States. The baby boy is our children's futures. The rattlesnakes are "illegals," "progressives" and "Islamic Shariah." I think it is time for us to wake up and realize that "enemies domestic" now far outweigh the ones overseas! The Founding Fathers took up arms and dealt with King George and the British army. What we are dealing with is just as deadly. Are we going to wait until one of these snakes strikes? Richard McGowen End of 'combat'? Not even close A letter writer named N. Montgomery stated: "We are about to end America's fighting the war with Islam on their shores. Congratulations, Obama! By leaving Iraq, you have just brought the war to our shores." Not so. Fifty thousand combat-ready troops remain in Iraq. They have been relabeled as something other than combat troops in an attempt to mislead us, but most of us have not been taken in by this smoke-and-mirrors tactic. Almost every combat soldier actually leaving Iraq is being replaced with a civilian mercenary – which costs the American taxpayer about twice as much to support. What N. Montgomery must not realize is that the United States already has over 100,000 civilian mercenaries in Iraq, assuming the combat duties of those exiting soldiers. The United States is staying in Iraq – with a combat force as large as ever – with no plans of ever actually leaving in the foreseeable future. You can rest assured that these mercenaries will commit atrocities we will never hear of but will guarantee that the ordinary Iraqi citizen will hate us forever. What Obama is doing by replacing U.S soldiers with less controllable mercenaries is making the situation in Iraq worse than it is today. It is sad that many Americans continue to believe a president who has proved himself to be a nonstop liar and the headlines of a totally compromised media. R.E. Mustaine Send 'em to prison Secretary Arne Duncan, President Obama's top education official, urged government employees to attend a rally that the Rev. Al Sharpton organized to counter a larger conservative event on the Mall. Although many legal experts said that he did not exactly violate the Hatch Act, the overwhelming appearance of impropriety made government employees wonder if they would get in trouble. Democratic Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson said in a statement Wednesday that she has repaid the illegally used scholarship funds in full. Even though she was told that she may not give funds to relatives, she did it anyway. Then she claimed no one told her. The overwhelming appearance of impropriety made her staff wonder if they would get in trouble. Secretary Duncan said that no law was technically violated. Johnson paid back the money. Unacceptable. If you or I did something similar, the feds would destroy our business, force our resignation and have us in prison, if possible. Well, it's time for federal law enforcement, Secretary Duncan, and Rep. Johnson to cowboy up. Duncan and Johnson need to resign, as a minimum. They needs to ensure Duncan and Johnson have an opportunity to go to prison. If resignation and/or prison does not happen, we have more evidence that the USA is a fascist state with three sets of selectively enforced laws. We know it. We see it. We don't like it. We will remember in November. Sutegi Mempiria In good company Mr. Farah, First, thank you for all you do. Don't be disheartened by Ann Coulter's rave. Ya did the right thing and she knows it, and so do we. Second, you are in very good company. None other than Martin Luther said: "If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God except precisely that little point which the world and the devil are at that moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christ. Where the battle rages, there the loyalty of the soldier is proved; and to be steady on all the battlefield besides, is mere flight and disgrace if he flinches at that point." You are meeting the enemy where the battle is raging, unflinching at the point of attack – just as you should be. There is a sorting going on. The net caught many fish and are being sorted; the tares are being separated from the wheat. The bad fish and the tares have a destiny. … Ye shall know them by their falling away when the going gets tough. They were only next to us, but not of us. Michael Class act [To Joseph Farah:] I previously congratulated you for handling the Coulter thing exactly right. And now you've done it even better. I just read her "Obama is not a Muslim" column – so well-done – but your wisdom and magnanimity in continuing to run her columns despite her (what shall I call it?) "lapse" – just plain class. Thanks. Tom Draschil Thursday September 02, 2010 And the war comes here No one wants to see our soldiers brought home and out of harm's way more than I do – but today, the terrorists are cheering Obama. The Iraqi people are fearful and want our military to stay. The terrorists are already expanding their control in Iraq. The facts are irrefutable. We are at war with Islam. The world is at war with Islam and has been for centuries. Their goal is to take over the world, and that will not end. Therefore, we are in an eternal war with these people. If we stop being diligent and declare victory, then we lose the battle. This war can never be won unless all of Islam and those connected to Islam are removed from the world. The only way to end this war is for the world to submit to Islam. If they can take America, they can easily and successfully take the rest of the world. Not only are we helping the terrorists in the rest of the world, we have allowed them to move into our country and set up their terrorist-recruiting mosques. Only a naive or pro-terrorist person would disagree with that. You never invite your enemy into your home. Just because some are not carrying out beheadings, it doesn't mean they aren't terrorists. The "peaceful" Muslims are quietly or "peacefully" putting Islam in place and getting their demands met, a little at a time. The Quran is quite clear that they must force us into Islam or kill us. They are succeeding in stealing the souls of many Americans who are converting to Islam. All over our country, Americans are bending over backwards to not "insult" Muslims with anything Christian and pushing false ideas and praise of Islam in our schools. Now we have given the terrorists a time line, and Obama is taking credit for Iraq. Let him take the credit because this credit will be his giving Iraq back to the terrorists. Of course, I believe this was the goal all along with this administration. We are about to end America's fighting the war with Islam on their shores. Congratulations, Obama! By leaving Iraq, you have just brought the war to our shores. Our soldiers will continue fighting this war, only it will be here with most of our citizens fighting beside them. We will not submit to Islam or give up our freedom. Are you sure that you want to take the side of the Muslims, Mr. Obama? N. Montgomery The Seething Majority Silent no longer, we are the Seething Majority. We are Americans who love liberty with responsibility. We treasure freedoms under the Constitution. We are awake and rise to thwart tyranny wherever seeded, Democrat or Republican. As of old, we seethe with rage against those who would shackle and muzzle us. The flame of freedom dying has dispelled our collective apathy. All tyrants, en garde! Freedom and liberty are nonnegotiable! Nor can any army on earth stop an idea whose time has come. Jefferson Hill Disaster ahead! I'm not a seer or prophet, I but predict the mid-term elections will never take place. Fearing defeat in the House and Senate, our Democratic president will invent a national security emergency that will trigger the end of our country as we know it. Constitutional protections will be suspended. Your news site, as well as others, will be blocked on the Internet. A totalitarian dictatorship will be ushered in, elections will be suspended, and the American people will never know what hit them as the only news we will get will be from ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN. Wayne Burden Read your Bible, Ann I commend Joseph Farah for taking action against Ann Coulter because of her support of and views toward homosexuality. It's great to see that those in the tea party are standing strong on all issues that are wrong. Perhaps Ann should start reading her Bible to see that God does not tolerate homosexual behavior, either. I think there has been major confusion on this issue. God wants us to love even our enemies, but we can hate their actions. Not all free actions are moral; and not all actions that are legal are good. In the case of slavery, free and legal actions were profoundly cruel and hateful. The same is true of abortion, the worst moral evil of our time. Our society has bought into the lies of pornography, sex before marriage, marital infidelity, divorce, abortion and, now, so-called marriages between people of the same sex. No one has been successful in stopping the onslaught since many parts of our society share a mistaken view of human freedom. When used properly, freedom is good and life-enhancing, but when misapplied, freedom works against life. Americans desperately need to get the Triune God back into our country, and the only way that I see this happening is for people to start reading their Bibles again. Donna K. Bishop Lobotomized politicians Joseph, It seems that all of the "conservative" politicians had their spine removed when they were elected. Apparently, they also received a lobotomy and had their "cajones" removed. With politicians like these, we will never win back America. I am sad for this country if this is our path. Keep up the fight, Joseph. There are a lot of us supporting the ideals that made this country great. Unfortunately, it seems we are outnumbered. Stephen Gilskey
